IMPORTANT Fall 2016 Permit Sales FAQ’s

WSU Transportation Services has suspended all online and over-the-counter parking permit sales on the Pullman campus due to computer system problems encountered while issuing permits to new students and employees. As a result, parking permit requirements have been suspended on WSU’s Pullman campus and are expected to resume Monday, Aug. 29.

 

ATTENTION ALL PARKING PATRONS:

 

  1. When can I buy my 2016/17 parking permit?

Online and over-the-counter parking permit sales are expected to resume soon.  Parking patrons are encouraged to visit the Transportation Services website at www.transportation.wsu.edu on August 22. Updated information is expected to be available at that time.

  1. Is parking free on campus until Monday, August 29?

Not in all cases.  Please see details below:

Permits are not required on the Pullman campus in permit zones until Monday, August 29th.

However, there are exceptions:

  • Restricted spaces remain in effect:
    1. Disability
    2. Reserved
    3. Fire zones
    4. Services areas
    5. No Parking Zones
  • The Smith Center and Terrell garages require payment.
  • Payment is not required for the Student Recreation Center.
  • Parking meters require payment.
  1. What happens if I can’t find a parking spot in my permit area during the first week of class?
    • Although you may be displaced from your preferred parking area, we expect that parking will be available to permit holders in various permit locations depending on when you arrive to campus.
    • Everyone should plan extra time to get to class or work to find a parking space.
    • If possible consider alternatives such as:
      • Pullman Transit
      • Carpooling with a classmate or a co-worker
      • Arrange to be dropped off close to campus
      • Walk or bike to campus

  1. If I arrive later to campus, where is the most likely place to find parking?
    • See map HERE.

ATTENTION STUDENTS LIVING IN RESIDENCE HALLS

 

  1. I am a student living in a residence hall. Where can I park until I purchase a permit?

Permits are not required on the Pullman campus in permit zones until Monday, August 29th.

However, there are exceptions:

  • Restricted spaces remain in effect:
    1. Disability
    2. Reserved
    3. Fire zones
    4. Services areas
    5. No Parking Zones

 

  1. Will I be able to park if I purchased a permit in Crimson, Gray, or Blue?

Yes, but parking may be limited until August 29th.

  1. When can I purchase my permit?

  1. I am a student living in a WSU Apartment. Do I need a parking permit?

Permits are not required on the Pullman campus in the WSU Apartment lots until Monday, August 29th.

However, there are exceptions:

  • Restricted spaces remain in effect:
    1. Disability
    2. Reserved
    3. Fire zones
    4. Services areas
    5. No Parking Zones
  1. When can I pick up my WSU Apartment parking permit from the Transportation Services Office?

Over-the-counter parking permit pick up is expected to resume soon.  Parking patrons are encouraged to visit the Transportation Services website at www.transportation.wsu.edu on August 22. Updated information is expected to be available at that time.
